I was born into this life & placed upon a karmic wheel. Early August flowers bloomed, by night a waxing moon revealed. A fox, a tree, a lonesome bone, a realization driving home. An ego's seed began to grow, a serpent to fight all alone. // I stare into the void & cast out a line. What'll I catch? What'll I find? Maybe I'll drag in a rubber boot, or maybe I'll snag a black flag.

No Question 05:19
"Why was I born?" I asked, & I went looking for the answer. I found a wise old book that said where I had started was already wrong. "There is no question!" "Where can I go when I'm already there? Who am I if I'm already me? What's the point if there's no point? When am I whole if I'm already One?" "There is no question!"

You can't even see what's in front of you. Whatchu gonna say? Whatchu gonna do? Jesus was tired. Buddha was hungry. Muhammad was thirsty. And so are you. You can't even hear what they say to you. Whatchu gonna say? Whatchu gonna do? Jesus was tired. Buddha was hungry. Muhammad was thirsty. And so are you.

Every day they cut down trees. Every day they throw the plastic in the ocean. Every day they drop bombs on unsuspecting children. Please, don't tell me it's over. Please, don't tell me it's too late. Every day they keep the slave-laborers working. Every day they slaughter helpless animals. Every day they spray more of their toxic chemicals. Please, don't tell me it's too late. Please, don't tell me it's over.

Shadows 04:16
I have heard the voice of Satan. I have heard Him call my name. I have seen the shadows of demons. Don't tell my mother. Don't tell my father. Don't tell my brother. It feels like hours.

For A Drive 06:24
Took a drive today: forgot what I was gonna say. Sunshine warms me, I want it to stay, but the trees are waving it away. Thought I knew what was going on here: turns out I was just foolin' myself. I stopped trying to control it, & the world keeps spinning all by itself.

Your cracks & breaks are filled with gold. When I saw the way I was living: the mirror never feels that nice when you don't like who you are. I saw someone I hated. Someone I complained about. Someone who was hurtful. I don't wanna be that way. I just wanna change my life. It isn't so simple. But I'm gonna be there, now. Won't you forgive me for who I used to be? I know it wasn't that long ago. I hope you see I'm trying. I hope you can see that. I hope that you can love me. I hope that that I can love me, too. I know that I can love you. Your cracks & breaks are filled with gold.

Dandelion 03:34
I did a real good job of making a mess before I met you. Oh, the things I'd done & the things that I'd said hadn't gone so well: had me livin' in my own personal hell. & what was that you saw in me? Was it who I used to be? Was it who I might become? Oh, what was that you saw in me? You helped bring me back to who I should have been. Your love lets me heal, & I hope mine does the same for you. All my life, I can't help but say: I was just waiting for you. I mean it every day.
